State of Texas Funding and Support

School Safety Allotment

School districts can utilize their School Safety Allotment under Texas Education Code Sec. 48.115 for equipment or software that serves both safety/security and instructional purposes, ensuring that instructional use does not compromise safety.

Texas Stronger Connections Grant

The Texas Stronger Connections Grant provides financial and technical assistance to over 60 high-needs districts, enabling them to implement robust Student Support Programs and Teams.

This grant aims to:

  •Establish and enhance school culture.

•Foster strong relationships between staff and students.

  •Reduce behavioral and disciplinary incidents

 •Improve overall academic outcomes.

Texas Student Attendance Accounting Handbook Requirements

SmartPass complies with the Texas Student Attendance Accounting Handbook's documentation requirements (Required Documentation 2.3.5) by allowing schools to integrate bell schedules and class rosters directly into the platform, offering a comprehensive view of student activities and school operations. This capability supports various schedule types, including rotating, block, and letter day schedules.

Key Benefits for Schools

. Student Visibility: Educators and staff can instantly determine where each student is supposed to be according to their schedule–or if the student is out on an active pass.

. Early Intervention for Positive Student Outcomes: Knowing students' locations allows schools to intervene quickly when students consistently miss required instructional time or engage in unsafe behavior.

. Privacy Protection: SmartPass does not track student locations or use GPS. It complies with FERPA, COPPA, CSPC, SDPC, NY 2-D, and SOPPA regulations.

SmartPass is helping schools create safer, more supportive, and academically successful environments.
